Hello,

I am putting in an LS2 with a T56 into a 1969 Camaro and I am using S&P mounts. S&P also sales a crossmember, did it did not line up in my car. I would also be right in the way of the exhaust.

I really like the way the factory brace goes up an over. Does a turbo 400 mount really work? How much modification must be done. The picture attached shows the four speed bracket cut. I could modify it to come back, but if the T400 is a better starting place I would go with that one.

Thanks.

Phillip Lawrence

Why not try the ATS mounts and ATS crossmember?

A guy with an Orange 69 cut up a turbo 400 crossmember and it worked well. I know he has a website showing how he did everything...I can't remember him or the website...maybe someone will chime in

The ATS stuff looks great, but I started with S&P. I do now want to switch now.

The ATS cross member will work with the S&P mounts. You just have to drill a couple of holes to move it forward or back about 1" on the subframe.

BRP hot rods sells a T-56 crossmember that is made from a TH 400 one. Maybe it will suit your needs.

Phillip, this question is off topic, but...
Did you get your LS-2/ and T-56 out of a donor car or did you buy them seperately? The reason i ask is that I was wondering if any LS type T-56 will fit the LS-2? I know kesiler makes an adapter to fit the older T-56s, but I don't want to use that.
