My 6 year old son recently expressed an interest in learning the guitar after someones Dad visited the school and played some guitar for his class. I thought it would be fun to learn along with him. So I went looking for a guitar at the local guitar center but the cheapest they had was $160. Too rich for a beginner I felt. Consulted with eBay and found this "beauty" LOL!!!!

Pretty damn funny huh? Actually, it was $37 out the door and for that kind of coin I figured, "How can I go wrong?". If it shows up and it's a clunker, so what? $37 I can live with if that's the case. They guy has good feedback and others that have bought them have generally been happy with them.

So my question is....are there any good guitar lessons on DVD that you can recommend? I don't want to drag him to guitar lessons at a music center just yet until I know his interest is geniune.

Thanks. Anyone? :git:

i grew up with mel bay. For your young son id put the lightest strings you can find on that guitar, alot of acoustics have whats called a high action wich means the strings need to be pushed down pretty hard and far untill you can make a clear note. I know when i was just starting out I was about his age and i had a hard time playing some guitars for this reason. lighter strings will help this out quite a bit and if they dont any music shop should be able to lower the action for little money. He may not have even have this problem but if he does thats how you fix it.

Oh...he has his own guitar. It's a half-size First Act model. This guitar is for myself. I'll check into that Mel Bay stuff. Thanks.
