Just to understand a little more about my car I am doing
It will have shaved drip rails & shaved door handles , just keep thinking of something different for tail lights
My dad has a C5 & he is stopping over with to take some measurenets to see if it will fit in tail panel

C5 Tail light in 67 Camaro
"Ummm, yeah. I'm gonna have to go ahead and uhhh...disagree with you there" -Lumberg.
I'm not feeling it personally. I like the longer, thinner look.

Personally I'd just use the stock shape and flush mount them using red lexan backed by diamond textured plastic.I've seen this on a 69 and it looks killer

I thought about making all new tail light housings out of alum & then putting in a small tear drop light or small round light inside
you would reatin shape of tailight housing which makes it the camaro look but put a little different look inside of it
The problem I found with C5 lights is that they are too big for stock tail panel area , I measured a set last night they are 6.00" & you only have about a 5.50" area on stock tail panel
I am going to measure a set of C4 tail lights this weekend & see how that fits

Don't like it myself, and the computer is easier than the real thing.

It looks good on the ATS car because it's a full blown custom. It would look cheesy on most cars.

Back around 1980 at Mich Tech, a guy had a custom tail light set on a Camaro. Didn't know as much about them then, but it did use three lights per side. They were three seperate rectangular shapes but tilted. So all three on the left side went on about a 30 degree angle from lower left to upper right. The right side was opposite, from lower right to upper left. We all thought it was cool looking because it was custom. Always thought that would be cool to do something different like that. To me, you have to do three per side, it just looks right. "All the Jag saw, were my six tail lights".

Second gen lights in a first gen would look killer i.m.o.

I just stumbled across this thread from awhile ago... I was wondering what a 78-81 Camaro would look like with C5 corvette taillights? Has anyone seen this done before...pics? I have been considering doing this just to set my 79 apart from the rest. Do you think this would be a bad move? Could anyone do a photo chop of some of these taillights into a 78-81 Camaro for me?

That thing is a mess, gotta love where the rear end hits the exhaust :bsjerk:
So that's what a wrecked and rebuilt 67 Firebird looks like:Alchy:

I wonder if its actually a firebird or just a stolen camaro with a firebird title. The second gen tail lights don't look half bad. I've never liked custom just for the sake of custom. Custom should be a marked improvement over the original, not just different.

This car started life as a 1967 Pontiac Firebird and it is titled as such. The car looks nothing like a Firebird now as it has been all custom fabricated to be the super car that it is today. The bodywork is absolutely unbelievable with every gap perfect and the lines are awesome. The rear quarters are 1969 Camaro that have been flared at the fenders. The rear tail panel is 1970 Camaro with high intensity taillights and customized for the exhaust pipes as well. The front grill is obviously 1969 Camaro Rally Sport customized and fabricated to fit perfectly.
Yeesh that thing is a mess. Body gaps - perfect - yeah.
