I really don't know the story behind this wreck, I saw it on another board......sad....it looks like a severere side impact from a larger vehicle.......and surely fatalities...Baton Rouge area.

. That's terrible. I hope by some stroke of luck there was no passenger and the driver somehow survived.

Thats disturbing, must have pulled out in front of a big rig or something. It says "bio" on the roof, I'd say the occupants died. I think they usually do that or a biohazard sticker when its full of blood and guts.

It could have been hit by a train and hopefully there was no one inside

Hmmn... How do you figure the carburetor got knocked off the engine without breaking any of the carburetor studs?? Looks like someone helped themselves to it after the accident.

are you sure that picture is from down south??? I think that car was in Wa. I will make a call in the morning and confirm..I was told of a '68 in a side hit from a Semi a few weeks ago...it was in rural Eastern Wa. the background looks like the desert scrubb brush over there.

condolences to the familys involved.

I was going on what was listed on the site I got this from.....he said it was on one of the CoParts Auction sites from Baton Rouge......but your right, it does look more western than that.

If you'll notice, the car has a middle section of the rear spoiler from a 2nd gen and moulded in side extensions....surely someone has seen this car before.

Man, I've looked at this thread twice now and everytime I get that sick feeling...probably because my 68 is going to be painted blue and my Dad already is worried about my putting it on a track after all the work I've put into it...sure hate to hit the wall out of turn 9 at PIR and have it look anything like this!!

The really sad thing is that we lost another classic car lover...I would like to know what happened, stories like this is what usually slowes the spirited street drivers down for a while...be safe and do it on the track!!

Amen to that.

One can only hope it was hit while parked.

car is for sure from Wa..my Dad was called in to look the car over and put a value to it..its in a Coparts holding area in Pasco Wa..is it up for sale???...Dad was very shook up when he called to tell me about the car..in person it really freaks you out...it was a closed case and I think he said it was a Semi that got the car but no one was talking about the accident at all..all Dad new was the guy did not make it. and it was supposedly a real Z..Dad called for help id'ing the car.
Kinda weird seeing pics posted my Dad took for Ins reasons.
