Moroso oil pan part # 20191, one-piece felpro steel/rubber gasket.

1971 350 block... Sittin in the garage on the laptop as I type this :smoke:

I have been told by numerous individuals that I need to use silicone to seal the one piece gasket, but no one tells me the same thing.

Where do I put silicone... on the pan rail and the block?

in the four corners of the oil pan... ? If anyone could draw me a quick picture I'd be VERY VERY greatful.

The 4 points where the pan makes a corner need a little dab- I seal both the pan and the block with a very light coat of Black, or the 'grey' stuff that GM uses (instead of gaskets- like on the ends of the injtake). Do yourself a favor- do not get torque-happy with the pan bolts! all the need to be is snug; if you reef on them, you'll put a dimple in the pan & possibly squeeze out the gasket.

you put small blobs where the caps meet the block and the timing cover and main cap (pinkish) All under gasket on the block, main, cap not bettween pan and gasket

Using a small bead around the whole thing won't hurt a thing.

These 4 points are the most important. Make sure you seal these up real well or believe me they will leak.
