The best information is in a book from a company called JTR

Its not as big of a deal as it once seemed.
thanks lowend, i appreciate the link .
everything will bolt right in. the TPI is nothing but a SBC. the trans is a 700R4 and usually all you have to do is move the trans xmember back a little and redrill some holes. if thats not an option, then i am sure a new Xmember is availible to hold the 700R4. might try www.bowtieoverdrives.com for the crossmemeber. what you might want to do is get the wiring harness and computer out of a later speed density car. this will allow you to delete the MAF possibly making for a cleaner install. there is nothing wrong with running a MAF. some people just seem to have problems finding a good way to mount it. there are aftermarket wiring kits availible for this engine. im sure Painless has one. or if you like the idea of doing a cleaner more custom job than them you'll need to get a service manual so you can get the pinouts for each connector on the PCM. the wiring is easy on a TPI motor though.
