Has GM released a date for the new camaro? Is there a list I can get on? Any help would be great.

No "official" date yet. The best place I have found for info regarding the 5th Gen Camaro is the 5th gen forum on www.camaroZ28.com .

thanks, david.
Will this car come with the paddle(thumb) shifters?

A Paddle Shifter would be pretty sweet.
...but that's a long shot. If it goes outside the norm you might see something like a 6 speed automatic be offered.
The American car companies so far have not embraced paddle shifter technology yet. And I'll emphasize "yet".

Interesting. I kinda had a feeling that the shifting tech from the auto c6's would be pretty easy to adapt over.
Not that it matters to me-- Ill be rowing my own gears, thanks!

The Grand Prix GXP's this last year had a shifter on the steering wheel called Tapshift, I think it is a paddle style. So I would say they are open to it on some level.

Until I see a full blown one on a Corvette or Viper or Mustang...they're gonna have to put their money where their mouths are.

Honestly, I think I'd rather row my own.
BTW, I have some of the images from the concept release in my screen saver at work. 1/2 the office is a drooling mess after seeing them.

I will row through the gears on the 67.
The new corvette C6 has the thumb shifter, right?
Anyway, I would love a 2009 camaro with the thumb shifter.
Doesn't tony "trapin" work for chevy? Can he influence the build? please.

Nope...I don't work for any of the brands. I'm nothing more than a small marsupial in the giant jungle of GM. LOL!!!!

Yeah, that's what I was going to say... I definitely saw a write up in one of the mags for the thumb-shifters on the steering wheel of the new Corvette C6 with the 6-speed auto trans. I think it is even on a Caddie too, but not sure about that. So, it's in the stable and theoretically could be used on the Camaro... eh?

Tow of the vehicles in my household are paddle shifted. One is a dual clutch manual, the other is a manumatic. I assure you that "rowing gears" will go the way of the butter churner.
Sooner or later.
