Ishmael, seen any whales lately? I have 67 and 68 firebird consoles. They are the same except for trim. They mount the same way, some features are different however. The rear ashtray and rear light that is present on the 67 console is covered by burlwood trim on the 68. manual trans and automatic use the same console but have unique to trans shift plates. I prefer the 67 due to the light in the rear and ashtray, even though I dont smoke it is kinda neat.

Thanks for the info. I have a good 68 console base but wanted the black 67 top and a place to put the guages. So it looks like all I need to get are the trim pieces and and new lids. There's a metaphoric white whale in my garage right now. It feels like I'm never going to finish it, thus the name.
Thanks again
Scott

Mabey for the firebird the consols are the same for 67 & 68 but the camaro's are totally differant. I think Classic Industries sell repo's of both. Log on to their site and check it out.

I concur on the camaro console differences. I believe the 68 and 69 were similar.
