VERY cool! I've been wanting to do something similar to my '69 Vista Cruiser. Too many irons in the fire. It has the wheels, though.

And listen to Bill. It needs a cowl hood!

Already got a cowl hood painted and ready to go!

The wheels are wheel vintiques magnum 500's with SS caps.

18X10 5.5 bs and 18x8 4.5 bs - they look just right on this car... putting QA1 coilovers all around so I will be tweaking the stance.

The wagons are sweet, it's nice to see guy's doing different stuff, here is a pic of mine. 83 Malibu, I just did a road trip from Ontario, Canada to Summit in Ohio and purchased Hotchkis front and rear sway bars and trailing arms for the rear. My Air Ride Technologies kit should be here in the next few days and I have just ordered Baer 13" disc brakes for all four corners. The tough part is next..........trying to pic out the right rim and tire combo, I want to go 18"x8" all around ,any suggestion on rims guy's

John,
Thanks for the tires sizes that tells me what I needed to know. The 40 and 45 series combo looks great on the 18 inch combo on your ride.

Funny small detail about those years wagons. The front ends are like El caminos, not chevelles. The chevelle front end will not work on them.
Ask me how I know.....

Wagons rule. I dont think I have ever seen a early 70s chevelle wagon in person. I sure would like to get my hands on one though.

Here is a photo of our dad's 68 Chevelle wagon that he bought new. It has been driven through almost every country in Western Europe and showed the wear from that. Almost every panel needed repair or replacement. Check out the real GM 68 SS hood that I was able to score. Best part about this..........he doesn't know we did this for him yet.

Very nice wagon.

Here is some info on the fenders.
The fenders for 68 fit all body styles, wagon, coupe, el camino, 4dr sedan.
69 fenders fit all body styles also for that year.
In 1970 the wagons and El camino used the same body lines as a 68/69 from the firewall back so the fenders were specific for these and do not fit a coupe or 4dr sedan at the door lines.
Also the 71/72 wagon el camino kept the same body lines from the firewall back and fenders do not fit a coupe or 4dr sedan.
The 70 fender has a side marker in the fender which makes it different than a 71/72.
The fender extensions are also different on the wagons and El Caminos as well as the 71/72 marker lights, They are wider.

I hope this helps someone.
If you really want to mess with someone you could take a 70 ElCamino nose and put it on a 68 coupe:idea:
