Hi, I'm new to the board. I've been browsing the site for a few months now and I've been working on my car for almost a year now. I didn't introduce myself at first because I didn't know if i wanted to go towards the Pro-touring side, or just do a standard Restoration. I'm in the tear down process now, and have been digging rusted areas out of this thing for about 2 months, and it just keeps turning up. I have mostly all the parts to put the car back together, just have to do the leg work first. The car is a 1967 Camaro Base model 327 with a 3 spd Saginaw. It was bought by my mom in 1970 after she graduated, and she drove the damn thing till 1989. The car was then stored under a large oak tree till I turned 15, and this is when my dad and I pulled it out and began restoring it. Due to the fact that I wanted a car to drive to high school, we never restored the car 100%, only body, interior, brakes, and some other small things. I drove the car for about 5 years, stored it up, went to college, and here I am. Due to the fact that it was stored a couple of years outside in the elements, It has new rust, and bad areas, that must now be addressed. The motor has about 200,000 on it. Plans are to use the original motor, rpm cam, heads, and rpm air gap intake. CSU Blow through Holley, Hooker Super Comps, Tremec tko 600, Procharger D-1, Custom Dash, Classic Instrument Gauges, 8 Point cage, Billet Speciality Street Stars, SilverStar HID conversion, Hotchkis TVS, and a tail load of other stuff that I've collected over the months. I will be doing all of the work, powdercoating, body, paint, and interior myself. So enjoy the pics, They are of the car when it was in great shape. To upload the build on a website, I'll post my progress. Maybe I'll have my car featured in a magazine like some of the guys on here.

Sweet looking '67. Welcome!

In what part of NC are located? I lived there for 30 years.

I'm in the Raleigh/Durham area. Really nice out here, and has a pretty good following for vintage cars. What about you, what part.

I live in central Ohio now, but went to High School in Raleigh (Millbrook), started college in Louisburg and graduated from ECU (Greenville). I've lived in New Bern, and Greensboro as well. All of my family (as well as my wife's) still reside in various parts of NC.

That's really cool. I went to college with a couple of guys that went to Millbrook. I graduated from NCSU. Hey, maybe you can answer a question that I havent' been able to find an answer for. I have 4 wheel drums on my car, and I purchased the standard Camaro drum to disc conversion for the front, which i believe is from a 69, but it's the full power kit, and I was thinking of purchasing a set of LT-1 rear disc from a guy on here, and I want to know if that will work. I've been reading that it won't because of something dealing with the difference in pressures with calipers. But what I want to know is if I got all the parts off the LT-1 and hooked them up, what will I need to make it work, and what proportioning valve will I have to use? Or would you recommend sticking with disc and drum set up? Hey also, check out this SS that me and my brother restored. It's his, I had first choice at this but I chose the camaro. :hand: Dad bought it new in California. 396-375hp, 4spd, 3:73 posi one owner.
