What are the disadvantages of the 80% quarter pannels ov er a full q/p?
Hows fit and whats missing? I need to replace the very rear section and mid wheel opening in my 69. I allso need to replace the rear pan (where the lights go)

Thanks in advance Ken F

I have installed both kinds but on two different 68s. The full quarters are just like oem, all the jambs trunk and door and the sail panel. The 80% don't have jambs and just go past the body line just above the handles back to the trunk. Also they don't have the flange that attatches to the rear body near the tail lights. FRANK

I have done both and I can assure you that as intimidating as a full quarter is the 80% is 80 % more work and it shows it is 80 % more onvious. Go wit hthe full quarter and you won;t regret it and if it cost a bit more up front it is cheaper in the long run along with being more valuable for resale. :banghead:

There is a difference between cheap and frugal and the results from doing either are obvious :Alchy:

80% panels include the vent window ledge,go into the trunk opening and go all the way to the tail panel just like a full quarter. Its basically a full quarter without the sail panel and door jamb

I'm in the process of installing the 80% panels on my 68 right now. I chose them because all my door and trunk gaps are very good and I didn't want to risk loosing that with going to a full quarter. Of course price was an issue as well, and since I do all my own work I felt this was the right choise for me. When finished I will have body worked the inside of the trunk and splater painted...I beleive this will hide the seam....

I should have said the only reason I uesd the 80% on my own car was because I moved the outer wheelwells outward and I couldn't have done it with full quarters. If I was getting paid to do it I'd charge about 500% more to install the cheaper panels! FRANK
