How does one go about making a fiberglass body? If I was to make a car from scratch it would have to be this one. The Wraith (www.thewraithcar.com)

i have had experence making a glass car , it took us about 14 months to make the plug and finish it for a mold to be pulled then about 6 months for the mold then about 3 months for the 1st body .
i would be hard to explain how to build it on a web site you need to visit a glass body builder and see 1st hand .

I kinda figured it would be a little to involved to explain online. :) Did you look at those pics? Is that a glass body?

Typically you have to make a mold, which is a negative image made off the original parts. It is pretty involved to create. New parts are then cast out of the mold.

Without access to the original part to create the mold, you might have to carve the part in foam, then cover it with fiberglass and work it smooth like typicaly body work while making sure you add mounting hardware and the like in place as you go along.

I've basically made a moldless construction (or you could call it a male mold rather than a female mold).

Didn't do the whole car, but easily could do it this way...

Also, check out www.fibreglast.com Lots of good info over there and all the products you will need.
