I've been lurking for some time now, but thought I'd finally make a post and introduce myself. My name is Mike, but EVERYONE knows me as Scream. It's a loooong story, as most stories involving how nicknames came about are.

To the meat and potatos of why I'm here....my 2001 Sierra. I know that Pro Touring/G Machines are generally considered to be classic muscle, but I've realized that my goal is similar to those with G Machines--upgrading a vehicle for not only great looks, but also for much improved performance over stock. It all started as a show truck, with a 4/6 drop and 20's, and lots of detail work done. Then the performance bug hit in a big way! The stock 4.8 and 4L60-E were trashed in favor of a cammed LS1 and a 4L80-E transmission with a Transgo shift kit and Yank 3200-stall converter. I also upgraded to a 4" aluminum driveshaft, and the stock 8.5" 10-bolt is stuffed with 4.10 gears with an Eaton posi, T/A aluminum girdle and Cal-Trac traction bars. I also had a mandrel bent dual 3" exhaust custom made, and added a Nitrous Express MAF-kit. With the 100-hp jets and some 275/55-16" M&H drag radials, the truck has gone 11.57 @ 119, with a 1.75 short time.

I'm looking to continue working on the truck, with upgraded brakes and suspension next on the list. I'm also considering a new set of wheels to complete the look...quite possibly a set of CCW's. I guess you'll want to see some pics, right?!

Welcome to the site, Mike. That's a great looking truck. We've had a large influx of sport trucks on here lately. It's good to see the g-machine philosophy expanding further and further.

Thanks for the compliments! My goal is to be in the 10's by the end of the year. I really would like to 4 link the truck so I could run some 20X11's or larger with 3xx-something tires in the rear, but that's waaay down the road. My next immediate projects are some interior upgrades (Denali console, power windows/locks w/ factory door panels and switches, more billet) and a Denali front end (just need to get the fascia to painted, I've been lazy.)

So far, no one's gone 10's on a stock-displacement GEN III motor in one of our trucks...they're all 408's. A little tune, bigger pills, there's a LOT left in it. I can't wait!

Thanks again for all of the compliments!
