I am starting a 70 nova project, the car originally came with a big block and I would like to put a big block back in it. However I would like to take the car to the occasional auto cross or open track event. Can I make the car perform well in these type of events with a big block? If so, what do I need to do to make it handle?

I was planning on aluminum heads, water pump, manifold, and radiator. battery in trunk.

hotchkis or global west springs
SCC control arm and ball joints

koni shocks

hotchkis front sway bar......

I have had both, actually still have them, 68 Camaro BB, car was squirrly, is the Camaro a shorter wheelbase than the Nova?? I think so, but the Nova with a BB is not squirrly but I don't try to drive it around corners fast, ie: 90/10, no sway bar.

The Camaro you could drive with your foot, stab the gas and go around the corner, With all the aluminum that probably lighten it up a bunch,

That is interesting that the nova and camaro perform differently. The nova does have a 3inch longer wheel base, might explain he difference. what are your et’s with nova?
