I was wondering if anyone has used the solid body mount bushings from
Pro-touring F-body.com. I was interested in purchasing a set,but I thought I would get some opinions first. They are adjustable;(either stock height or 1/2" drop.)and they are only $85.00/set. I wonder how they compare with the competitors product. Some of the competitors products are anodized or hardcoated. Is this really necessary? Also,I wanted to talk to someone at Pro-touring F-body.com, but I never have gotten an answer on the telephone. They claim to be an internet businness only. They only do orders by e-mail. Call me old fashioned, but I like to talk to a human before I buy something from someone. Has anyone had any dealings with these guys? There product seems good but how is there customer service?

Sorry Nitro. Wish I could help. I purchased body mounts from DSE. Don't know about the customer service at Pro-touring F-body.com. Best of luck.

ProTouring F-body is a very good guy. He has been really helpful to me on the Pontiac stuff. I would recommend him.

Is their any reason not to use the solid mounts that are available in the jegs magazine. Are the DSE ones better or just more popular?

Global West made the originals. They are still the nicest ones I've ever installed.

The ones you see in Jegs/Summit only include the half that goes between the frame and body. You are left trying to figure out what to do with the rest.

The ones discussed above, Global West & DSE include both halves.

I e-mailed Pro-touringf-body.com,but got no response. E-mailed them on 3-8-06 and have gotten no response as of 3-10-06. I really want to buy there product, but I can't do that if they won't answer the phone or email me back.

That's weird, I ordered and bought 2 sets of the solid bushings, and a set of the 'Competition control arms' for some friends of mine. This was mid-February, and he replied to the email listed on the site. The telephone on the other hand - noone responded to. He was late to contact me back in early-Feb, but that's because he had been to Europe on vacation. To me he seemed like a good guy, and was always willing to help - I would buy from him again.

Here's some pictures of one of the bushings, disassembled so you see how it's built. If you're building a 'show-car', these may not be for you - but if you're after the most bang for the buck, and price matters - I recommend these. They get the job done, look sturdy, and have hardware included, wich is why I love them. The gay blue things from GW might be better for some people, it just depends on what you want really.

Since they're not treated on the outside like the others, there might be a problem with corrosion if used in snow (roadsalt) climate, but there are solutions to that.

I hope you find some of this useful! :usa:
