What is the performance potential of LQ9 6.0 litre truck engine as compared to the LS1, LS2, LS6 engines, the LS7 is out of my budget for the rest of this decade. Thanks for input.

well honestly the most powerful LS based engines are the iron block engines such as the LQ4/9.

honestly you need to know if weight is a problem or something you want to make important. if you can swap coil springs then id go with the aluminum engines. for the street they will provide plenty of power. the only cost difference between the engines is the initial cost of the aluminum engines. they all use the same parts as far as heads/cam go. they are the same size externally. so it really comes down to initial cost. oh and they make the same power easily as well. until you get over 100hp anyway.

If you want to go with extreme power the iron block is the way to go. They can handle 1000+ hp.
