Anyone running a 12" on a Chevelle? How much did you have to notch the frame rails?

I have an 11" on my 72, basicaly the same as your 70. Its a tight fit. When I had my quarters replaced, I had the stretch them out a hair, and kind of "minitub" it. Its in there with a 315/35-17. No rubbing issues at all.

I would take some measurements, I am sure for you to run that size of wheel/tire combo, the frame rail will either have to be moved inward some or cut down the diameter (similar to what DSE does). I have a 10" wheel now, with no issues of course, but I know that Redline ran an 11" wheel (315 tire) on their '70, without doing any modifications. I do believe that under complete suspension travel it did rub some, I really can't see how it could not have. I also would say that alot depends on the ride height the car will be set at. Either way, you will need to modify the rear frame rail and tubs to accomodate that 12" wheel/tire, if you want to be clear and safe of any rub issues.
