Where can I get stainless brake hoses to convert from the stock inverted seat style lines on my car to the Corvette calipers I will be running. I searched the forum, but to no avail. Further, I would like them to be DOT approved. God forbid any sort of accident ever happens, I don't want some vampire (lawyer) flushing my life's savings because I was running a "racecar only" part.

Thanks Guys!

Pretty sure that Laramie at Precision Brakes can hook you up.

How about some of these-

FYI our lines come in two different styles.

1. In 2" increments from 2"-60" all with AN3 female ends on both sides. It is easy for me to come up with lines for retro-fit applications because I can use virtually any fitting on either side of the line. In a lot of the Wilwood flex lines kits (which we also have) you will find the same.

(Downside....they are not DOT approved when constructed this way. to date we have never had any issues with the lines in our kits, and to my knowledge neither has Wilwood)

2. Crimped on ends- These hoses actually have the fitting crimped on the end....much like an OEM style rubber hose. These are DOT approved and we have them for virtually every car out there.

(However, when you are custom building something many of the parts you choose are labeled for RACE USE ONLY or OFF ROAD USE. In my honest and very short opinion companies do this as a waiver of liability. Guys that are increasing performance end up with a vehicle that has so many mods that each and every vehicle is unique in its handling and overall performance......For this reason I am pleased, that the good ole U.S.A does not force a "would be" Pro-Touring builder to pass such strict and brutal processes such as the TUV in the UK.)

If you are concerned about the DOT approval, shouldn't you be concerned about every modification you are doing?

Rest assured if you are making susupension changes you'll find them marked for RACE or Off road use only. It would literally take aftermarket companies years to pass off a label (like the OEM does) that says "approved for highway and street use" for any new component they bring to the market.

Lastly, the reason you may struggle (if they are even available) to find a D.O.T approved line with the correct ends, length and fittings is because you are building something "Custom" and the lines were never meant for use by the OEM and most aftermarket companies are not privy to the retro-fits that happen within the Pro-Touring world.

Someone correct me if I am wrong....does anyone else know if the SS lines in question here are built DOT approved by someone other than our 3 manufacturers?

I think Earl's has DOT stainless hoses. I seem to remember when they came out but it has been awhile since I checked.

We also have DOT hoses, I am wondering if they have DOT hoses with the crimped on ends in question here??
