I just replaced the upper instrument panel on my 69 camaro. I have standard black interior but I am not sure what color/finish black I need to use to paint this. Is the black used for the upper instrument sheetmetal the same for what is used on the glove box, ashtry, and front of dash (due to glare off the windshield)? Is there a certain "color" of black such as landau black that should be used here? Just want to have the finish as close to stock as possible. Any suggestions?!?!

I used Eastwood's Chassis black on mine. Not shiny, just right IMO.

Thanks! Did you use this on the upper panel as well as the glove box?

Yep, upper panel, dash face, glove box, plus the door and quarter tops.

you could always add a flatner to your gloss.

Centari single stage semi-gloss black. I used Gloss black, but semi-gloss is right on the money to look stock. You can pick it up at O-reillys. Don't forget the gloss hardener if you decide to use this stuff

Andrew.....thanks for the tip. I'll look into this because I have an O'reillys just down the road.
