Hi, my name's Olly, i'm 17 years old. I bought a '67 RS camaro last summer, after 3 years of searching for a project car. It had a 327 with a stuck lifter, a worn out 3 speed with a smoked clutch and a good inch of rubber on the rear wheelwells. Top that off with some hidden body damage all over, and a hideous paintjob, and that's what she was.
This is the day I got it. (I had to cover the hideous paintjob with spraybomb, it was BAD.)

Replaced rear valence panel, outer fender on the rear drivers' quarter, and quarter skin, due to them being smashed beyond repair..

Decided to rebuild the '327, so I pulled it out.

I'd been thinking about buying a LS1 to put in there, for the overdrive and fuel economy, so I decided to search eBay. Did some homework, found Street and Performance, and realized that the LS1 swap was possible. So i found one and snagged it..

ugh. It's cleaned up some now.

I fabbed my own transmission Xmember, cut up and re-welded some '98+ Camaro LS1 headers to fit, used S&P style motor plates, and fabbed pretty much everything to get it in there. Subframe's been restored with new springs, urethane bushings everywhere, quick steering ratio box, drilled and slotted disc brakes (from drum), and 2" drop spindles, all powdercoated. I'm hoping to get this thing on the road ASAP.

So the project is on. It's going to be House of Kolors Cinnamon Pearl with two silver Z28 style stripes, but only 6" wide.
Here's my concept photoshop...

Bodywork is nearly completed, just touching up the firewall before she goes in for paint. Then it's interior, and electrical, and IT'S DONE!
Glad to become a part of this forum, i'm a regular at LS1Tech.com, and see lots of familiar faces over here.

so, hello!

The color on the motor is the one your using correct? Wouldnt mind seeing your progress on the body work, suspension, interior if you have one. I dont know, entertain me.:fart:

Yes, intake is color of car, however, it's painted over black, vs white that the rest of the car will be, so it's a darker more reddish than orange color.

worst part was that the idiot that owned it before me took a plasma cutter and jaggedly cut out the outer fender from inside the trunk, so I had to replace it..

that's fixed now, looks like it never happened.. I dont have pics of it primered over, yet. The whole rear of the car is done, bodywork wise, now.

Here's the frame before, it had been punched in the nose pretty good, I had to weld on the frame extension thingies from a '72 nova in the junkyard...

here's it after I welded it back up, had it powdercoated semi gloss black, then put disc brakes on it..

here's the engine, the first time I got it in with the metal on, before I cleaned everything up.. https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2006/03/camaro012-1.jpg

and then with the front sheetmetal on for the first time, with my 2" cowl.. I was so excited. Finally looked like it was coming together..

Nice! I love the color and wheels. I drove a '66 coupe, was considering buying it, but if I was to get a 'stang, it had to be a fastback. Found the '67 camaro a week later =). What's it powered by? Got any times for the 5.o?

That's not exactly what I meant, i was asking your location, not whether or not you were in school. I'm not great at making myself clear sometimes. :pat:

I figured since you already finished a '69 project and are starting a '68 with an LS2, you probably aren't on a student's budget, anyways lol. You'll have to let me know where the good shops are. I hadnt heard of any. I'll hit you up for those detailing tips, PM is on its way. :secret:
