View Full Version : How long to get Baer Brakes

Has anyone recently ordered Baer brakes from TBYRNE? I ordered front and rear packages from them almost 10 weeks ago, and still haven't gotten anything. I realize this is most likely a problem with Baer, not TBYRNE (who was very nice to deal with, and great prices)

I was told 6 - 8 weeks...Anyway, just getting impatient, and was wondering if this was the norm.

I ordered mine from them through a group purchase and it took a long time as well. It was because Baer was back-logged. You may contact Tbyrne and ask for a status. More than likely you will see them any day.

Hey Mike, did ya see your car in the April issue?

Tbyrne is great to deal with, the backlog is almost always because of something on Baer's side. I have heard of crazy long wait times for the stuff to ship.

I did see my car in the last issue, I read every issue beginning to end. Great Mag! I posted a thanks in a separate thread, but thanks again, it was really great seeing the pic. https://www.pro-touring.com/forum/showthread.php?t=15442

Tbyrne has been great to deal with, but as you know when you order parts, you just can't get them quick enough. I want to get the car ready for a cruise in May (new brakes, Speedtech control arms, lower the front a little more) and can't wait to get started.

Cool deal.. glad you liked it :)

Yea, I'm the same way.. I want them NOW even if I can't install them yet.. lol. Also, it seems that the more you want them the longer they take.. the work of Mr. Murphy..

Same here and this is a particularly bad time as EVERYBODY is ordering parts to complete their projects in time for spring/summer.

Unfortunately when you shop by price (and who hasn't) you often find the place with zero inventory and zero rent/overhead etc has the lowest prices too.
Which means they order your parts when you place your order with them. With parts like Baer adn custom rims and maybe some suspension stuff, you can get screwed by the backlog at the manufacturer. A business on a larger scale might have the parts in stock, but needs to bake that inventory/rent into their pricing.
No free lunch!

Mine took a long time also, which is the norm, their product continues to be in demand. I don't know of any company at this time that stocks Baer Brakes/components. I would say this is due mainly to the different flavors/part numbers, but also the cost of carrying that type of inventory, would be enormous!

My serious street kit took about 18 weeks, also from Tbyrne. The rears were the holdup. I'm guessing the delay was with the rotors because I got the rear 2-piece Eradispeeds for free. Paid for the Eradispeeds up front. I've also heard that Baer switched caliper suppliers from PBR and that was the holdup.

I received the parts a couple weeks ago, and installed this past weekend. Everything went very well, only needed to fab. a bracket to connect the emer. brake cables together. Except for longer rear studs and hard brake lines, the kits included everything else needed for the install.

Overall I was very happy with the install and parts provided. And with the money saved, it was worth the wait IMO to go thur T BYRNE.
