Are any or most of the 8.5 inch 10 bolts a direct bolt in for a 69 Camaro. I decided to scrap my 9 inch project due to it being not very cost effective and after looking through the posts alot of people are using the 8.5 rear ends and if I could find one for cheap I would be plenty happy with it.

Without making another post are the pinion depth gauges worth the money or can you set a pinion gear up without the gauges and just use a dial indicator with a magnet

I did this swap on my '68. The '71-'74 Nova 8.5's are the same width, and the spring pearches are in the same location. But the pinioin yoke on an 8.5 is about an inch longer then a 8.2, so you'll need to have your drive shaft shortened.

I believe the 2nd gen f bodies rear ends are wider.
