I just got my camaro back from sandblasting and am getting ready for etching primer. I had a guy tell me that I needed to use one of those little 3" finger wheels over the entire car to prep it and get the burrs off. Has anyone else done this? Is this needed? I was told that I cant just spray over the burrs from blasting because it will fish eye? Are any of these true? ~Phillip

Depends on what he used to blast it. Do you know? If you run a shop rag over it and it grabs the rag you will need to knock it down a bit. Put a 3M softpad on your D/A and hit the whole car with 180. Using the soft pad you can have it ready in half an hour or so. Wipe it down REAL WELL with a good degreaser using the blue paper shop towels. It will be ready for primer when it flashes off. Shoot on a couple of heavy wet coats of a good Y2K primer /surfacer and it will be ready for blocking.
With a good clean surface the self-etching primer is really not necessary...
