Check out what me and my buddy have been workin on. It's an '80s model (I think 87, but I can't remember) El Camino. Its got a MagnaCharger-blown and intercooled LS1 with a whole lot of Street and Performance dress up items on it. We are almost through with it, What do you guys think?

rats someone beat me to it. looks good, nice to know im not the only 5th gen camino guy around. ls1's are neat but mine will have a killer (almost unstreetable) small block when its done.

I think the wheels are only temporary. Hes getting a different set, I believe.

I also wanted to point out that the rear lower control arms on these things are EXACTLY the same as a 3rd and 4th generation Camaro. They are completely identical. Thought that may benefit someone here, especially you, dgumoe. Also, we boxed our own rear lower control arms and installed poly bushings. Its a whole lot cheaper and lighter than buying aftermarket, and its great for the sleeper look, they still look stock.

How much HP and torque will you get out of that thing? What is an estimated cost for the complete motor? Thanks,

What airbox is that, a painted stock one?

Jeff, I'll check on a HP and $$ estimate, BLWN1, if youre talkin bout the air conditioner box, yeah, we just painted the top. It looks pretty cool, too. It better fits the rest of the car, IMO.

Thanks, I was trying to decide what to do with mine, never painted before, so I need to look into prepping it and the firewall I guess. How far from Ky are you located?

right outside middlesboro, ky. about 5 minutes away. I go to LMU, and my buddy's shop is really close to there. If you're close, you should stop by. Oh, and Jeff, Brandon says he estimates about 500-550 rwhp. The Ls1 has been stroked to a 382, and has had a pretty massive port job. He says 500-550 should come pretty easy with 7 lbs/boost and a fairly conservative tune. It has a 2200 stall and not-too-aggressive cam, but I can't remember the specs. The blower is rated for something like 20 lbs/boost. I think there is about $20,000 so far just in parts. Also, this is with no labor.

this is a little more tasteful. The entire heater box is body color and such. https://static1.pt-content.com/images/noimg.gif

Looks good. My car is a light color, almost butternut, not sure I want under the hood that light, but Im not a fan of flat black..

Nice setup, I bet that thing is going to make some torque! What did you do for the gas tank setup?

Nice G-body! The blown ls1 is way cool. I have a sbc with a weiand 144 procharger. It goes pretty darn good. Good luck with your project. The people on this site really know there stuff.

Well, its not actually mine, it was a customers that i helped my buddy on. If anyone is interested in having work done, the shop at the tri-state TN, VA, & KY area. His number is (423) 869-9506. He specializes in LT1 and LS1s, in the cars the came in and conversions. I just like to hang out and try to learn from him.
