We are finally getting more work done to the interior of our demo car.
Here (http://www.hzemall.com/our_gallery/installs_tims/regal/cover.htm) is the link to show the Impala dash being modified to fit.
We had to take 2 1/2" off either side and shaved nearly 3" off the back of the dash to make it fit. Once this was trimmed it slide right in.
We are smoothing and shaving the dash so that the only thing left on it will be the gauge housings and the glove box (which will be motorized so no lock will be visible). All the moulding and holes will be filled.
The stock center dash speaker location will be left, a motorized LCD will lift up from this location. All the gauges will be the Dakota Digtal "Solarix" series with the chrome bezels.
The entire dash will then be painted Satin black which will match the custome console we are going to build for the car.

That is pretty cool. Keep us posted on the dash build. I noticed the ugly pedals though. LOL

Wow, GREAT job! I'll be honest, when I read your title, I thought, "Oh man, that's gonna be ugly", but it looks fantastic! You've done some great engineering on your G-body, glad you shared it with us! I dig the overhead console too, very slick. Nice work!

Yeah, those came with the car :)
I have a new Lokar gas pedal setup and trying to figure out something new for the brake pedal, but they are low on the list :)

i absolutely love that car. its got to be one of the nicest g-bodies ive seen being built. its odd, most of the ones i see are what i call mullets. but there are a few select guys like myself that are actually making them into something worth looking at. i found that car through the elcamino site but havent been back to look at pics in awhile. the dash looks awesome. i cant wait for the finished product.

I would love to have a dash like that in my 79. Keep us updated on all aspects of that beauty.

Factory GM, I bought the last two kits that were in the GM computer (so I was told)
from what I have found about 1 out of 50 monte's and grand prixs came with them. Best bet is to start hunting wrecking yards.
I saw a set up a few weeks ago in a yard, not sure if they are still there.
It gives you so much more room when those torsion bars come out....

Thanks guys, we are going to be stripping all the MTX gear from the trunk and putting in Zapco so we are going to update a few things in the trunk to match what we are now doing in the interior..........
I wish I had more time to work on it cause I really love the car.................hell I have only driven it 6 times since I bought it......:(
As a fellow G-body owner I love the Mod's
