...and am I glad as I was getting tired of pushing, jacking and other wise man-handling the car around the garage!

Last weekend the GTO finally powered up and rolled into the sun briefly. We rebuilt the entire suspension, added disks all around with new lines, converted to a fast ratio PS and re-installed a rebuilt motor.

There's still plenty of sorting out like adjusting the clutch so the car will go into 1st gear ( :drive: ), fixing brake line leaks, tuning the engine so it idles, and so forth. I was just thrilled that it moved!

Here's a couple of pics of it's "pro-touring" maiden flight.

Wow !
Now that is a very nice tripower you have there.
I like the wheels too, they set the car off...
Sure beats pushing it around doesn't it ?
Plus, it probably sounds better too. :drive:

Those first maiden voyages are special. I am loving seeing all these 65 Pontiacs. Such sweet drivers. Looking great, I too love the color and wheel choice.

Congrats. It is always exciting to finally drive your car instead of push it around month after month. I like your wheel choice too. Stance is also nice.

Nice job, beautiful car, great stance. Thanks for the inspiration, I hope to have my goat looking as good as yours ASAP.

Is your fast ratio steering aftermarket or off a production car?
Good luck wrapping it up.

Thanks for all the kind words. The color is "palmetto green". I don't think I'll lose that color in the parking lot! LOL I'll need to repaint it down the road and will keep it the same color.

I think the car will wind up sitting a bit lower after it gets some miles on it. As it sits in the pictures, it was basically pulled out of the garage for the first time so there's been no real stress on the suspension. Just from that short time out, the front end has dropped maybe another 1/8". It should look good when it's settled.

Conno, I went with a rebuilt stocker done by a guy in Mo. (Power Steering Services, Inc www.powersteering.com) Very good to work with. He rebuilt the box as a fast ratio unit.
