Is my engine froze?

hello party people,
I may have done something to the crank. I drove the car for 20 minutes, and now it won't start. I tried to spin or rotate the belt, but the crank pulley is frozen. Should I be able to spin that pulley by hand? Does anyone have a suggestion about where to start? When I turn the key, the car makes a clicking noise, but it doesn't turn over or want to start. Where do I start? this sucks!

Check your battery. See what the voltage is.

Try putting a socket and ratchet on the crankshaft pulley to try and turn the engine. If that doesnt work remove the alternator belt or any other belts attached to the crank. If the engine still doest turn over after that let us know.
Do you have manual or auto tranny?

You should not be able to turn that pulley by hand. Do what both guys said and report back. You probably have a bad connection or low battery and that is why you are getting the clicking sound. Recheck all of the connections to the starter and battery. Make sure they are clean and tight. If you still get a clicking sound then get a battery booster pack and attach it to the battery. That should get you enough juice to get the motor to turn over.

For piece of mind, you can do what camaroboy said and put a socket on the crank snout. It should turn over that way. There is alot of compression on it so it should not be easy. May want to use a longer bar to turn it. Also you can remove 1 or 2 spark plugs as this will make turning it easier. But again I think it is a bad connection or low battery.

If it is an automatic, try taking it out of park and then firmly putting it back in park. Once you have done this try to start the car. I have an automatic with a ratchet shifter and on occasion I will turn the key and get just a click. All I have to do is put the car firmly back in park and it starts right up. Give it a try.

You want to remove the sprk plugs and be sure it is not somehow hyrolocked, also, it will not make compression without plugs and spin much easier
