I have a 68rs and just got the car back after a year in body and paint.
I have done alot of searches and to be honest too much info for me to keep straight. I am going to do the suspension know. And I need help!!
I have a 327 w/tremec tko 600. I already have Baer Tracker discs for front and back. I also have a complete front end kit from Performance Suspension. Edelbrock IAS shocks, 1.5" lowered rear leafs. This Car is not a daily driver, just want something that looks and handles good. Can you advise me on uca what kind, do I need to do anything with the spindles? I would like the front end also lowered. Do I do this with springs ? If so should I cut the Moog 6380 springs I got with the front end kit or go with Hotchkis? I also have a Mullins #800 p/s box if you need to know this. Who has the best power booster for the brakes? Sorry about all the questions, But just excited about having the car back IT LOOKS AWESOME!!! and looking forward to putting it back together.

My advise would be to grab a cup of your favorite beverage and go to:

infamouscamaro.com

pozziracing.com

Also carl cassanovas site, there is a link to it on pozziracing.

My overly simple answer is , use the stock control arms alone or in conjunction with the "g mod"(gulstrand motorsports will send you a free template).

Use the stock spindle, the dropped spindles can create other issues.

Cut the coil spring a little at a time until the car sits where you want it to. Go easy, once its too low you have to buy another spring and start over.Even with "lowering" springs you might still have to do this.

Torque all the front end stuff with the car on its wheels.

Thanks for the response. You say leave the stock control arms? Will just the suspension kit improve the handling. If so why do so many people spend $500.00
plus on aftermarket uca's.

If you go to those sites they break it down in detail, but I can give you my opinion.

If you do the gmod and upgrade the bushings, cut the coils , replace the shocks, and run a front swaybar the car will feel much better than stock. Look at the alignment specs on those pages, the right alignment will help also.

My point is I bought the dse arms, but you dont absolutely need them, especially since you already have the new bushings for the stock ones.

You could buy every trick piece for your car and it would help, but you can make it handle well on a budget also.

Thanks I will go to the sites you have suggested. I have a great deal of $ in this car and just want it to look and feel good. I have along way to go but since the body and paint are finally done, actually they painted and clear coated last night. I just want a nice touring car, that people will look at and say "WOW" that really looks and rides nice.
