I am working on a 68 firebird and I am putting in an ls1 in it however I don't know how to mount the chevy mount to the 68 fram rail. I am going to use the 1/4 plate adapter drawn on this sight.

Are the frame mounts different between the Camaro and Firebird?

If the frame mounts are the same, bolt the stock rubber mounts to the frame mounts and the plate adapter to the engine. Otherwise I can't be helpful.

I don't think so I think they are diff but how diff I don't know because I have a firebird and not a camaro so I can't compair the two. I was hoping someone here would know from experiance.

Well, you're going to need the plates anyway, and you're going to need the frame mounts and you're going to need the rubber mounts; I'd say go ahead and drill the holes in the plates to bolt to the LS1, put the rubber mounts on the frame mounts, and make sure that the engine lands where the marked holes are on the plates... but maybe someone's got a more definitive answer.

If your frame still has the Poncho frame mounts, you need to swap them for the SBC chevy mounts from a 1st gen Camaro.
