The "shop beater" gets new sheetmetal !!

Some of you guys might have seen my thread introducing the car a few weeks ago. For those who didn't heres the deal with the car. Since selling my PT 69 Camaro a few years ago when I got married, I haev missed it dearly. Well after years of working my but off in my shop www.fletcherscustoms.com building other peoples dreams, I finally set out to build my own. I purchased a junker off of ebay with the plans of building a nice daily driven PT camaro. The car came with soem new sheetmetal but boy was I in for surprised when I got it home. Got it home and blasted to find it had been hit hard a good twenty years or so. So what started as a light project got pretty involved pretty quick. The previous owner had already removed a lot of the sheetmetal already when I got it. I started on the car around 1/20/06 doing the remaing dissassembly. And actually started putting on the new metal on 2/5/06. And hell look where I am now. I am ready to put it in primer!! Not bad for a my father and law and I working about 3 hours each night after we close the shop. I dunno if I was lucky or what but the DSE tubs took me knowhere near 40 hours, maybe its cause my car had no quarters on it!! lol

DSE cage kit

383 sbc with 6 speed

Areospace Co. 13 brakes all around, 4 piston

dunno really, should have the majority of the body work done end of week. But right now I am out of cash and still have to buy DSE front, Ford 9", tires, and brakes. I'll do the paint myself so its basically free plus materials.

Looks like it is really coming together well, I think that you have come up on the same speed bump that alot of us encounter .... $$$$

yeah its more like a mountain!!!

CAr is gonna haev to sit for a while anyway!! Customers first! I got a 48 dodge in house and a 62 Galaxie for frame offs, along with two late model trucks coming in for airbags and custom frames. So the car will sit for a while, maybe by the time I haev more time, I'll more cash

Quite the undertaking you have...great work. I know all to well about running out of cash and having to leave it sit...sucks. Going to be sweet when its done though.
