View Full Version : Projector headlights for classics
A friend of mine got these really slick projector headlights for his '66 mustang, and of what I understand they will fit in my Camaro too. The light is awesome, and it's a cool slightly modernized part for our classics.
He got em on ebay, but I can't find them... wondering if you all knew a source.
I wish I had a pic... I'll try to get one later...

Sylvania makes a set, it runs around 500 bucks though.
If you do a search in this forum youll hear a lot of bad reviews on most of the kits.

You can also use a halogen lense that allows you to replace the bulbs and instead of the normal bulbs convert them over to a true HID. You can buy H4 HID conversion kits. The ones we sell even have a small halogen bulb mounted beside the HID bulb so you don't lose high beam flash like most other HID kits.
I just did them in my Regal which has dual 4x6 halogens on both sides, now I have a HID for low, HID for high and 2 halogen bulbs for "flash"

i just bought some lights from hella...they have the replaceable bulbs and are white like the dse only 100 bucks for the kit and they look sweet and are so much brighter and i can still upgrade to higher wattage bulbs nd get relays to get more light
I wasn't talking about HID's... xenon stuff can be pricey, unless you source a ballast from a wrecked car.
Projecters are just the ones with the lenses for more direct light.

Delta tech has some kits you might like. That's who I am going to try.

If you are talking about the H4 halogen housings that have a projector built in, the projectors are just for looks and aren't really functional.

Doesn't mean that you couldn't modify the housing to fit a real HID projector in there, I did that with the housings on my jeep and eventually plan to do it for those housings you were talking about (and you really don't want to run HID in housings that were not meant for it creates a crazy amount of unusable glare)

The aftermarket for Harley's has HID and projector setups. The lights are usually marketed toward the 7" headlights.
Maybe do a search and see what you find.
