hi guys, i was wondering if any of you think airbags would be better for handling then say a set up from hotchkis or global west.

There has been some testing done by PHR that suggests that even though they had a hotchkis suspension setup under their 76 camaro, it performed better at the track after the airbag/air bar was put on.
The ride quality was also signifigantly improved.

Oh, and not "airbags" are created equal.. ART is the only air spring company I know that trys to make their stuff handle as well (the shockwave system).
We had good luck with testing and the car got a tiny bit better through the cones with the shockwave system over what the car had (aftermarket springs, KYB shocks, etc).
So the verdict was that if you want the capabilities of a air ride system you don't have to abandon the idea of having some performance to boot.

Just a quich note, I've done alot of research on this for my 72 chevelle, And I can honestly say that I'm satisfied that an ART kit (w/Shockwaves) will enhance the ride quality, and the cornering effects greatly. If your not looking to buuild an all out race car, then its the way to go!

I have ART Shockwaves on the front and have been impressed with the handeling around corners andswoopy country roads. Ive never taken it to the track and tested it but that not what I built the car for. I have 1/2" clearance for the tires in the rear and they dont rub ever going around corners. ART is the only company I would buy from.
