Oval pipes for 2nd Gen F-body?

I have a 454 SBC with 1 7/8 inch headers into a 3 1/2 inch collector. I bought 2.5 Flowmaster exhaust kit to avoid clearance problems. I'm concerned that a 3 inch kit may either generate too much heat (the underside is painted body color) and/or bottom out. An option would be oval pipes but am not sure where to find them for a 2nd Gen F-body. Comments?
