It's probably got chambered exhaust like Camaros had in 69..baffle is inside the pipe..Our Cuda has Chambered exhaust..we didn't have room for a muffler, and the chambered exhaust looks and is cool..even though you can't see ours.

I was just gonna ask if that sort of setup is exceptionally loud. As I recall the chambered setup on Prodigy had a rather sharp almost raspy tone.

The chambered 4th gen systems are probably the loudest of all the catbacks offered. My buddy put a chambered exhaust on his C4 and it is fairly loud as well. Chambered exhausts look great and are great for saving space, but if noise is a concern, they're probably not the best choice.

does any one make one that is a tip or a short style. any brand name would be great. also has anyone ever used the screen type inserts that look like bullets. i have seen them in summit or jegs. they slide in the rear of the tip.

The main thing to watch out for is backfire. Genrally systems with straight thru mufflers like the chambered mufflers, will backfire. I have been thinking of chambered exhaust if the current set up I am working on isnt loud enough when finished.

The Motion runs the same Chambered as Prodigy. Classic Tube is the only one that I know of that makes it in 3". We are playing with some inserts to cut DBs on Prodigy, we'll let you know.

There was a video floating around of the Motion running, it basically sounded just like Prodigy

Backfire?? I don't know why a good tuned motor would backfire no matter what type of mufflers were ran. Any other ideas behind this?

Because there is no backpressure with straight thru mufflers. If you are at around 5,000rpm and idle down with it in gear it will backfire. Just like in your high school years when you had cherry bomb mufflers. They were also straight thru and backfire. Mabey its not called backfire but you will hear popping thru the exhaust just like if you ran open headers and reved to 5,000rpm and let off it would backfire like crazy.

Guys

We make 3" chambered mufflers in any length that you may want, and with 2 1/4, 2 1/2, or 3" cores. Classic Tube buys parts from us-they may even be our mufflers.
