Not only did my wifes' father give me a great stert to a pro-touring car, but she grew up on a farm with a bunch a gear heads (dad/brother).
We live in a very nice customer home. Yesterday she came home from work and found me in the laundry room degreasing all my stepnetion parts in her laundry tub.
Instead of screaming, she simoply said, "you have to do what you hae to do". WOW what a great woman.
Little does she know, I splatered grease on one of her blouses hanging above the sink. Ooops!

That's funny. A buddy of mine used the dishwasher to clean the carb while he had it apart. His wife didn't think it was too funny, but she got over it.

When we first dating in college, I lived with three other gearheads and we had parts and beer vottles everywhere.
One particular day she came over, I was degreasing a turbo 350 in my dishwasher.
And she married me?

My Dad did that to the hubcaps from my Mom's Toronado... He didn't like the way they came out though, so he took them all apart and polished the spokes one at a time.

I've cleaned parts in the dishwasher and dried/cured/baked painted parts in the oven (NOT powder coat). Being on shift work has it's advantages, the wife still doesn't know.

My controls arms are drying right now in my dining room.
Can you believe she is the one who told me to put them in there?
I think I had better get up and make the coffee in the am.
Just dont wash your shop towels in the washer, the smell will make everything in the future smell like oil. Trust me, my 6 year old went to school smelling like I sprayed her with WD40 instead of purfume after doing her laundry. LOL

My wife has been pretty cool about me storing all of the clean, new parts in the house.... but yesterday I pulled the rear window out of the Chevelle and brought it in the house so It wouldnt get hit with Grinder Ammunition...... and I set it on the white carpet with some of the Butyl/DumDum still on the bottom. Needless to say... Im in trouble.

Man, at 19 a key part of women is how they accept cars.
One I know saw my background of a car doing a wheelie and said "that's stupid" (she's off the list), one called my Camaro a Corvette (she's partially off the list), another told me how much horsepower some of the '69 camaro 396's have and asked if mine was a RS/SS or just an SS... Wow was all I thought.
Nice catch man, I'd say we're all jealous... Women these days just aren't very accepting of cars.

The front bumper and most of the asscociated mounting hardware for my 77 is on the floor of my front porch right now, resting on top of two plastic-like flower planters.
She also told me out of the blue last night that when the new Camaro comes out, I should buy one. That made me stop in my tracks.
My wife is good.
