Has anyone tried this stuff yet? It seems to do the same thing as the Dyna Mat stuff, but is way cheaper!!
Check out the web site: www.thermotec.com
It comes as a sound deadener and a heat controller type, and just a sound deadener type.
I found prices on it from Jegs.

There are many products that will work, it is necessary to understand how each one works in order to get the best performance. The vibration damper, good for lessening resonance of body panels. thermal insulation, good for areas of high heat like where the exhaust or transmission are close to the floor of the car. Sound insulation can be a dual performance product if you get the right material. Some products can insulate temp and absorb/reflect noise. In my opinion Dynamat is good for damping vibration, but then so is peel-n-seel available at Home Depot for a few cents per square foot. It smells the same, looks almost exactly the same, lots cheaper, same difficulty in removing it. Same tar like smell that can linger if no thermal products are used to stop heat transfer to the area treated. I found some damping material that had no smell at all except for the adhesive that was excellent, I will try to find it again if you are interested.

i was just curious. The cost of the thermo tec stuff is way cheaper then Dyna Mat. I think I'll go with that stuff. If its not too much trouble, let me know what you used, I'm still about a month away from actually needing this stuff yet.

I've used the Thermotec mat in my rear seat and package tray area. It worked great on cutting the noise from the rear of my car.

I give it two thumbs up.

Is the fatmat better than the thermo tech stuff. If so where can you buy the fatmat. The guys that sell it on ebay have bad feedback.

Thanks

I don't know if FatMat is better than ThermoTech or not, but Fatmat's website is, predictably, http://www.fatmat.com.

I called Thermotech and 100 Square ft dealer price is 250. Thats not really any cheaper than Dynamat. The search continues.
