Had a bug, wasn't that fast, but I gave any other VW a azz kicking, and gave Mustang guys fits, a stock GT couldn't get a car length on me, and boy that would PISS them off, Bugs are fun, I love to have a 67 vert, red with white interior, polished wheels, lowered and a nice FAT 2.0L Turbo motor, flat 4 of course,

The only car that ever beat me on the street was vw bug , I had a 75 camaro with good 350 4 speed in it nothin great but ok , I wasn't expecting to race but I was allways willing , this guy came up on me so fast I never saw him cumming , I got it up to about 90mph on a winding road and he was gone!! never saw him again , I'll never foget it.

The machine shop that my friends own, and build my engines, have the fastest of their class. Last year it ran a 9.15 in the quarter. I forget what engine they used, it originally came out of a vw bug. That was their fastest time and the #3 cyclinder was cracked and only held half compression.
I can ask what they were running in it if anyone cares to know.

I love the German Look. Take a Super Beetle and gut it. Slap in an overbored Type 4 engine, some nice race seats, lower the McPhearson's, kick ass wheels and some big brakes and go to town...sound familiar?
250hp in a 1700lb car. Awesome.
I go to shows regualrly in the Summer. There are always cars that pull those kinds of speeds. I like it when people laugh when I tell them that their musclecars couldnt keep up with a VW that cost a fraction of the amount to build. Too funny.

The bus has a Porsche engine, sounds like my moms 78 911 sc graymarket car,
i cant imagine seeing a VW bus fly by me on the high way.
