View Full Version : Rear Sway Bars?

I'm seeing a lot of guys adding rear sway bars to their leaf spring set-ups on 1st Gen Camaros. I think I remember reading, a long time ago, that adding rear bars really doesn't help with handling and may actually hurt it.
So, are they good or bad? How much front-suspension mods need to be done for a rear bar to compliment the front?

Would ya look at that. I hadn't read that thread.
I think the general idea that I gathered and accepted was that the font suspension was engineered for no rear-sway bar. So adding one would "over-engineer" the rear and not give enough. The result would be oversteer and pushing into corners.
From what I've read, I'll stick to my rear sans sway-bar. Thanks again.
