I was told that my paint on my car looked as if my painter "modeled the paint" and that their were "fish eyes" in the paint. I am assuming that fish eye's are where the flake did not spread evenly. as for the modeling i don't really know what he is talking about. can somebody shed some light on these subjects for me? Also , i took some bolts off of my spoiler and when I did, the paints around it just flaked off. is this normal? what could have caused it if not. it is almost like the paint didn't stick very well?

Most likely your painter "mottled the paint" , the metallic in the paint is too heavy in some ares , looks uneven. The final coat of metallic should be done lightly to avoid this.

Fish eyes are small spots where the paint leaves dots that look like fish eyes, the surface underneath was greasy or not prepped.

Paint can always chip but it should never flake off, again the surface underneath was not cleaned , primed and scuffed properly.

Three strikes for your painter, hes out.
