Which type of brand on the Oilpump would you use for an Csb street engine that has an oilcooler?

Most people run a Melling, kinda the industry standard.

Just a guess here but I think its a typo and he meant SBC. If it isnt a sbc then I have no idea what a csb is.

Assuming its a sbc then a Melling M55A will be more than adequate.

That might help you get responses (I don't think I'd seen it written CSB before, typically written SBC).

Can't help you though; my BBC has a Melling high volume (don't remember the PN though) and my LS1 has a ported GM piece.

Just because the melling is cheap, doesn't mean its no good.

$$ does not always equal Quality.

I have never used one or have ever known someone who has but I believe there is a pump made by Gearotor or something like that I saw in a circle track article once. They made great claims about how great they were but maybe the price doesn't make them worth it?

The last Melling box I saw 8yrs ago said made in USA.

The Melling? The last one I bolted on about a week ago was made in USA as well as all of the previous Melling units Ive had my hands on. Ive used several dozen of these pumps and have only had a problem with one of them in that time and it was just a broken bypass spring.

Melling pumps:

I built a 351W in 1988. Sold it, and the Cougar it was in to a buddy in 1991. He still has it. The top end has seen many different configurations since then and currently is sporting a big centrifugal supercharger. It is still running the same Melling pump I put in it back then and even with over 100k on the bottom end everything is still solid.

As stated, Melling is pretty much the standard. If you decide on the 10552/10553 pump with the bolt-on pickup, be aware that the pickups that Melling offers for this pump may or may not work with aftermarket oil pans. Most of the aftermarket pans have pickups designed for the M55 pumps.
