has any one ever used these or similar to them...seems liek a decent price or are there any other ones out there. i know dse has some but what about just the light?

I bought some similar ones about a year ago. The ones I bought had the additional blue driving "city" light mounted in the reflector bowl below the main headlamp bulb. They claimed to fit with no modification however, when I went to mount them I found out that the back round area where you connect them is about 1/4" bigger around than the hole in the '69 Camaro headlight housing plate as well as the fact that the housing plate has no opening in the area where the small driving light exits the reflector bowl. Thus thier claim to no modification was complete bull. They refused to refund or take it back as well...real jerks and they had the coveted "Powerseller" status too. Powerseller apparently just means they are big enough to tell you to stick it and your negative feedback is just averaged out from thier sheer numbers of sales as most people don't complain even if unhappy to keep up thier own rating. I blame myself for not taking the time to remove my headlight and looking before ordering. I have not used them as I don't want to modify anything if you want them and don't mind modification you can have them for just the shipping cost (probably about $5 USPS). The seller I got them from must have had enough complaints eventually as they are no longer on Ebay. The point is most all of these cheap alternatives even without the driving lamp will not fit because of the main connection point at the back end of the reflector bowl is too large to fit through the round opening in the center of the '69 Headlight housing. Some sellers are now stating the fact that some car models may need some mods to make them fit. Just make sure you ask all questions before ordering! Good luck. Yep same here! I was just looking to upgrade to H4 bulbs and the housing I got actually installed upside down so I would have had my low beams pointing way up and high beams a little lower. Seller told me I was crazy. No refund. They don't sell on Ebay anymore either.

I had the same problem with those type of lights. I installed a set of halogen sealed beams in mine with relays . These produce a lot better light than the older type sealed beams. Also no cutting or modifications.

Get ahold of IPF (a owned subsidiary of ARB - the air-locker company) They have an H-4 conversion that will work for 1st Gens. I have installed their H4 kits on two vehicles and their kits are very complete and fit very well.

I have already looked into it, and though they don't have a PN for a system in stock, I have been assured that they can set up a system that will work.

I had the same problem with a set from eBay. I then purchased some APC units from Summit Racing and they fit fine. They are about $40pr. Here is a pic of them on my 71 Mustang. For the money they are just fine and the lighting is good, much better than stock.

Good thing about Summit is that if you don't like them or the fit, you can return them. I believe they are also sold at Pep Boys.

The Zoops are more expensive, I found the APC for you at Summit for $25each. Click below. Summit or Painless also has the harness available or make your own relayed harness (simple). I also have the DSE lights going on another car and just ordered the AWW ones. The APC are the least expensive and get the job done.

Hammered, those Delta lights look nice which kit did you go with and if you don't mind what are their prices like? Also I was looking at thier install PDF and noted that some drilling for the back area is necessary...however, I think that was only pertaining to the 5 3/4" lights be interesting though to finally see them and fitment let us know when they arrive.

4Muscle...did you only install them on a Mustang? Looking at the pic on summit the back connection area with the rubber seal looks the same circumference as the lights I bought off Ebay that do not fit in the hole on the '69 Camaro headlight housing. Just curious if anyone has used these without modification on a '69.

I think that I purchased them from a auto parts store like PeP Boys, Auto Zone or Advance. They are 55 watt on high and give you plenty of light.
Also consider our driving light conversion kits that will add another 55 watts per bulb. That will give you some serious high beam light capability.
Direct bolt in too.

The APC halogen 7" conversion light is 2 15/16" dia. at the rear. This must be able to go thru the headlight bucket and main frame for the headlight assembly. The Sylvania cool blue sealed beam replacement is 65/55 watt direct fit. The only disadvantage if there is any is that you can't change the bulb with a sealed beam.

I measured the back of my Ebay "Diamond HID (fakey HIDS) with City lights" and the back area is 2 1/2" dia. and these like I said before will not fit through the opening in the '69 Camaro headlight housing. Seems like they would not fit by about an 1/8" to 1/4". So I would think the APC's won't fit either. I am going to put in some Sylvania Cool Blue sealed beams soon and when I do I will measure the opening in the healight housing.

I don't have a Camaro, but I did use Hella's for both the high and low beam. They have replaceable bulbs, H4 low (I think) and H3 high (maybe?). While I haven't driven with them, they seem to be nice and bright, especially with the 100w highbeams! Here is a pic of the headlights, plus the nice Hella driving lights I installed. I really like the driving lights as they have real adjuster, not the single bolt style.
