Whats the standard way to measure front track ? hub to hub. tire centerline to tire centerline. My g body project is 58 hub to hub and woundering how close the c5 vette is ? wider fenders are no problem..

Hub to hub is standard. Not sure what the stock C5 is, our C5 track widths are 57.5 and 61.5...I'd be curious to find out.

Track width is the measurement from the center of the tread to the center of the tread.
C'mon Matt, you guys run WinGeo, you know that.

Correct. Track width can be altered by swapping between wheels with different offsets.

Ahhh... no.
"Track" width is measured from CL to CL between the tires. Wheel mounting width is Hub to Hub... The track width can be different from car to car depending on what offset wheel is being used. A positive offset wheel will decrease the track width and a negative offset wheel will increase it (generally).

You're right. Often I forget to switch from "customer-relations" language to "car-nut". We have to refer to hub to hub as track width for customers because they often have a hard time finding tread C/L...sorry!

My tread centerline is 61 inches, hub to hub is 58 inch, Just trying to an idea if I can run the c5 rim package too. thanks for all the info...

The C5 rims have a very deep positive offset ( I don't know offhand what it is though). Your current wheels are pushing the tires outboard 1.5" per side which is a "negative" offset. The C5 wheels will pull the tires "inboard" drastically which will cause clearance issues to upper and lower control arms and inner fender liners during turns. I won't recommend spacers on the front to push the wheels back out because of bearing and spindle stress. You would be better off to get wheels that actually fit your application with the correct backspacing and offset.
