I currently own a max G chassis for a 1968 camaro. It does not come with engine/transmission mounts. I see that the bolt in chassis for the shoebox style cars 55-57 chevy's does. I'm wondering if I could just use that same setup? It basically looks like some tubing welded to the front crossmember of the frame. It also looks like it would take some of the headache away from creating my own engine mounts. Thanks Chris

The Tri-5 engine and trans mounts would not place the motor in the Camaro's stock location, if that is what you are looking for. The benefit of not having the mounts is the ability to put the engine wherever you want it, and most builders prefer this method. Place it as low and far back as you can for best results.
To make life a little easier, we have universal motor and trans mouns kits. Installation is fairly straightfoward, just mock up the engine and trans where you want it, then trim the mounting kit to fit the inner frame width. These can also be fabbed up yourself, if you are so inclined. The universal engine mount kit is fairly similar to the one used in the Tri-5 chassis, but the Tri-5's trans mount is unique to our bolt-in chassis only.
