Anyone see SW's (Streetking) (https://www.pro-touring.com/forum/member.php?u=392) very cool '69 Camaro in the current PHR mag.
Nice ride and nice feature!
Check out the build up of it on his web site by clicking here (http://www.fototime.com/ftweb/bin/ft.dll/pictures?userid={ED36C117-22D2-428A-9A34-55AC9461594D}&AlbumId={5A86406F-E8C5-4F39-8E9E-5E466F019DB7}&GroupId={2740070B-E534-4006-93D1-BBB6953565A5}).

SW -
That is an awesome 69. I realize we all gave Bill credit for getting his GTO on the cover, but that 69 is one sweet ride. With all of your cars, we almost expect you to be in the magazines, but hey, that's a good thing. Almost a given since you have nothing but the best. Congrats. :woot:
Now about that PT bus...

I gotta say, PT cars look the best when they are subtle and refined. The perfection is in the attention to detail that goes into these cars.
This is one really hot 69, congrats and enjoy!
-George
It's been a favorite of mine since it was built. Way cool! :twothumbs
BTW-How's it running with the new engine?
what was a little scarey to me was the hot rods, customs valuation being really low in comparison to what there build costs were, or appeared to be i still am shakin my head about that ls6 .......... a million could have bought some really nice stuff imho....

Agree with the others, very tastefully done and also one of my favorites. Congrats to SW for getting it in the PHR.
That car is sick, he didn't mess around on one bit of it. Glad to see it's done man, last time I saw it, it was barely more than a subframe with an engine on it and some wheels.

That is one of my all time favorite cars. Maybe you Camaro guys can tell me something. Why would you paint the front bumer on this car and not the rear? I think the chrome bumper on the rear looks so good up against the black and can't figure why you whould paint the front. Just curious, I love the car either way.

I'm pretty sure they were going for the Endura-Bumper look that is found on '69's.
I've had the pleasure of scoping that car out in person a couple times and it IS that nice. Great car, great craftsmanship, etc. It sits just like the Mule, but in black. I especially love the Fikses (SW, if you are listening, I know you are a distributor for Fikse, so maybe you can hook me up?)

SW, we have already talked about this, so you know how I feel about your car. I was so not looking forward to the issue when I heard your car was going to be in there the same month. I knew my car could in no way, compete with yours. I think the difference was the model cars we chose, because other than mine not being another 69 camaro, I certainly did not have an advantage. Like all your cars, this one is just perfect, and I am honored to for once in my life, be in the same magazine as you. Thanks for that privilege. :hail:

Where has SW been? I haven't seen him post lately. Probably out racing cars, haha.
Thats definitely in my top-10 favorite 1st gens. I'd love a black 69 like that, I just fear the body work and paint costs to make them look perfect!

That car is freakin' awesome. It was the background on my computer desktop at my internship this summer, and more times than I can remember, looking at it helped me get through the long, boring days. It was also a conversation piece for some of the guys in my office. Everyone was a big fan.

SW... that Camaro is gorgeous, as are all of your rides. But I gotta ask... when you gonna drop that zero and get wit' a hero??? j/k, but I gotta say that I'd love to see your hand on a '69 Mustang to complement that Camaro. ;)

I just received my copy of PHR in the mail yesterday and hadn't heard that SW's car was in.. Great shoot and article..
I was with SW and Steve Kim the day they were shooting it.. and oh yeah.. I actually got to drive that beast around the block a few times.. it runs and drives better than it looks. The problem was that I had driven my 69 (ZZ430-430hp) to SW's house that day.. then after driving his I had to drive mine home.. it felt like I was driving a grocery cart in comparison.
SW..congrats on the great layout..

Wow, thanks for all the nice comments guys. I have been really busy working on some "other" projects and I'm sorry I haven't been around.
Bill, the Goat deserved the cover, it's beautiful.
Tony, I have been doing alot of road racing lately and going to alot of my daughter's basketball/ soccer games.
Buda, sometime this year I will start on a '69 Mach 1..
TJ, I hope they spelled your name right, thanks for your help!
We are currently building my '97 Viper into a twin-turbo monster, it should make 1300-1400 at the crank. I am also working on my '06 Viper and '06 ZO6, so all of those are keeping me busy. My car is back at DSE. :secret:
Thanks again for the props,
this is a great site!

That is one of my all time favorite cars. Maybe you Camaro guys can tell me something. Why would you paint the front bumer on this car and not the rear? I think the chrome bumper on the rear looks so good up against the black and can't figure why you whould paint the front. Just curious, I love the car either way.
This is the way the endura bumper car should look..body color front, and chrome rear..Where the guys go wrong is on a black car only they originally had silver grills, not black. When I changed the Battle Axe grill from black to silver it lit the front of the car up..looked much better with the contrast. Alan Johnson thought I was crazy when I told him I was going to paint it silver..after he saw it done, he admitted it looked much better.
I got the issue today, it really is a helluva spread on both cars. It's funny how much cooler car mags are when you've met the people in them :)
Again, great spread, and it's awesome that someone with such a stable can be a good humble guy. I look forward to seeing the Mach 1, SW.

I left all the original houndstooth in my Battle Axe..original dash with tach, and console guages..I haven't seen anything I like better..why make a change just for the sake of it..most of the changes I see are hokey looking to me...but then I like understated stuff..

The car is absolutely beautiful. Hopefully mine will come out close, but the bar has been set pretty high. Can someone tell me what size tires are on the rear, 315 or 335?
Thanks

I'm from Austin Texas where S.W. lives. I've seen his rides up close, these pics really don't do the car justice. I met SW a while back at a show, he might not remember me but his cars are very tastefull. Im a true car nut and over time nothing "does it for you" but his rides do. It's like he gets it all right, and you can't stop lookin'... His 73 firebird was just as cool...

I love the car. I have seen it at the Parmer/1431 meet I believe in Austin. Still have only ran into SW before, never had the chance to say hello or any extent of that. By the way SW, I have my car over at Bill Buck's place right now for the cage and other chassis work for the moment. Trying to get my 69 Fastback stang in order :)
Great cover on both cars in the PHR article!
