Hi, what size flares are used on my steering box?
I have a Camaro 1973
I belive it's a Saginaw steering box. the problem is that on DSE's site it says that one flare is 11/16" -18 and one 5/8"-18
and in classic industries catalog it says 7/16" flare and 3/8" flare. CI steering boxes look the same, but I don't know.

Please help, I need adapters to fit AN-6 braided lines to the steering box.

Thanks

11/16" and 5/8" are the thread diameter. You will need these sizes in order to buy the correct -6AN adapters.

You can use -6AN for both the pressure and return lines. All you need are the inverted flare - -6AN male adapters. Aeroquip, DSE, and several others offer these parts.

The Aeroquip P/N's are FCM2964 and FCM2965.

Thanks Carl, part number changes to FBM2964 and FBM2965. for summit just add an AER in front of the part number.

Aeroquip catalog calls out FB prefix numbers as bulk pack, FC prefixed indicate carded/clam shelled retail products. Depending upon price, Summit may purchase the less expensive part, and therefore the P/N may not show up in their system.

As long a one pc. is ordered there should be no problem.

GREAT! Thanks alot!
Thread sizes are a PITA for me since I live in Sweden and use the Metric system it isn't easy keeping up with every thread size in inches :D UNC NPT etc. Thanks alot
