Does anyone have experience with a 9" tire on a aftermarket subframe?
ALston Chassis spec only 7-8" and I am not sure about the C5 stuff (DUe or 21st).

I have a 13" on back and really do not want to put $7000 into the front and only be able to fit an 7" tire/wheel. Alston says that to move the frame rails in to clear for tire will then compromise headers?

ANy feedback appreciated.

Yep they are correct. You coule notch the frame like what was done on the Mule. You could set your wheel BS so it does not interfere with the frame, but I would then worry about fender clearance.

I have 18x9's on the front of my 69 w/ Chassisworks frame.
I used a piece of 1/2" square tube bolted to the hub, and a piece of mattboard cut out to the shape of the profile of the 265-35-18 tire I planned to use. With the "shock simulator"( a piece of steel with holes drilled in it to simulate ride height, full compression, and full droop ) in place of the coilover, I determined that 18x9 with 5" BS would just clear, lock to lock, full travel.
Unfortunatly, the wheels I'm running only came in 6" bs, so the tire hits the back of the frame just before full lock. I plan to use some 1" bolt on spacer/adapters to get the wheels out where I want them.
