I have my battery in the trunk of my 1969 Camaro and I added 2 bus bars (positive and negative) to where the original battery used to be and also a negative bar to the driver side. They are bolted in, but is this too exposed? This car will never see rain, but it will obviously be washed. I would rather ask than be sorry. Please post your expertise opinions so I can make changes now if need be.

Thanks!
Allen

Clean protected wiring is always worth the effort . So the question is ... do you feel safe enough ..is it good enough for you .. could you do it better

If it were my car I would worry about bumping into them with a wrench while doing something else. They look a bit exposed and that would bother me personally.

A little dielectric grease will help moisture proof things. Dressing your wires to provide drip loops helps too.

This exposed crimp should have had heat shrink to insulate it.219590

I should have mentioned that the positive cable was a temp cable. I always use heat shrink for permanent cables.

This is just the mockup phase and thats why some cables are messy. I just wasn’t sure about the bus bar locations.

From the looks of it, you only have 3 black wires and 2 red wires, why not just splice the two groups together along with an appropriate gauge wire to each battery terminal and eliminate both blocks? Then you could also tuck the wires away where they will be mostly hidden.

Not all of the electrical is done. There will be more wires.
