I bought the new Chevy Performance Mag with the extra Suspension Mag as well.

I saw that there are several versions of the 2" drop spindle avalible now. One said it was 1 1/2" taller for better Camber and the other said it was 2" taller for better Camber. One mentioned that fact that it relocated the stearing arms for no bump steer. I think it was FatMan and Heidts?

Any one have comments or experience with this?

What application are these for? If they are for a first gen, then it has been beaten to death the disadvantages of a drop spindle. Yes, the taller spindle will help geometry, but you will run into steering arm clearance issues with a drop spindle. Even more so if the steering arm is relocated to help with bumpsteer. The only way to help that is to run 20"+ rims. By doing that you are leaving the realm of PT and into hot rodding.

Yes First gen
If their are so many disadvantages why in the world would not just one but two companies come out with them? Or is just when using wider rims?

Because not everyone cares about handling, and most of the cars that use two inch drop spindles will never be driven hard, or even driven much at all.

72 chevelle, Are 2" drop spindels a waste of time do they really offer a performance gain or should I just go for the 1" drop from hotchiks using there performance springs, just curious?

The "A" body unlike the "F" body needs that spindle pin drop to help correct the factory geometry, so yes, get the drop spindles.

Just one thing to point out on using these for an A body. If they did indeed drop the steer arm mounts to accomodate better bumpsteer for the F-bodies (which it should do) that would do the reverse on the front steer A-bodies thus making it even worse than factory. You could fab your own steer arms though and take care of this. We will be making steer arms for our spindles just for this reason. I guess if you had to you could probably use them on these spindles as well.

Dennis I'm too dumb to understand what you said. Please explain spindle pin drop.

Don't think i'm busting anyones chops hear. Just dosn't make sense why two companies that catier to the PT market would both make a product that everyone here is bashing. The add makes it sound like what everyone wants to hear. Lower Center of Gravity, improved geometry, maintain suspension travel and correct bump steer. If lowering the spindle creats problems with rim clearence then it seems it would make sense that the people that just want the look would not buy them since the look is wide tires. Why would they not just make them taller to fix the camber problem and and use a drop spring? Why wouldn't someone compete with the ATS spindle?

Pin drop is the amount the spindle pin (the part the wheel bearings go on) is raised to create a lowered height.

There are lots of "freinds" around here that will back up each others products and are very quick to put down other products that are not as well designed. The Fatman spindles are not perfect by any means but for a bolt on option they will be an improvement over stock or the typical "tall" spindle option.
