Greetings everyone—new member here. I hadn’t planned on building another car at this stage of life (71 years young), but I’ve started a new wagon project: a 1959 Studebaker Lark.
Rather than using the original 14-gauge frame, I’ll be swapping in the frame from a ’63 four-door sedan, which is 11-gauge. So far, I have a C4 Corvette front suspension mocked up, and I’m now working on the 3-link rear suspension.
I’ll be using a Watts linkage that’s been sitting in my shop for years (see pics), and I’m trying to determine the correct setup. Specifically, should the linkage be fully closed or fully open at full suspension compression? If anyone has experience with this type of Watts linkage, I would greatly appreciate any guidance on proper setup. This one is definitely different, and I haven’t been able to find any useful information on it through online searches.
Thanks in advance for any help.
