Hi all, I wanted to introduce myself and my new to me 70 Chevelle ex drag car soon to be ProTouring car.

Car is a low mileage Malibu with all original sheet metal. Currently powered by a warmed over SBC/TH400/12 bolt rear.

I have a new LS3 waiting to go in that was bought for my last build but I decided to hold onto the LS3. I’ll put a 4L80 behind the motor and throw the entire QA1 catalog at the car. I’ll be posting pics and joining in with builds and questions as I go. ENJOY!

Nice, but you might look into a 6L90E instead. 2 extra gears for better cruise mileage without giving up the wheelies. Since you have the engine you'd just need Chevrolet Performance part number 19354328, LS ECU Controller Kit, and the transmission and a shift lever.

You could also go with a superior 8HP transmission, but that does wind up being quite a lot of extra work and expense but there's a Cougar here (https://www.pro-touring.com/threads/109464-1967-Cougar-build-(over-700-pictures-and-videos)) pretty much running that here now.
